The Story of an Uncommonly Gentle Man

If me and you were standing on a rooftop, I'd push first.
I’ve kind of felt like I’ve neglected my LiveJournal in the past 8 months or so. I haven’t updated really at all since I started going back to school last Fall. I gotta admit though, this go round, I am loving it; I am learning things that will no doubt help me towards a career in computers, and I’m getting get grades this time too. Last Semester, I got an A, a B, and a C. I had withdrew from my online class, so I didn’t get credit for it, and re-took it this semester in the actual classroom, and bam, got an A in that class. I have finals coming up this week (one of them is a take home, which is due Monday by midnight, but I already know it’s going to be easy); and I only have to go to the school for three of my finals next week. Other than my written final in IT205, the other two finals my professor said we could use notes on as long as they were hand-written, so for my IT122 class, I am gonna write out every little bit of the router configurations I am going to need.

So the last time I gave a real update was right after Dan’s wedding up in Michigan, and there hasn’t really been a WHOLE lot that has happened since then, there has been a few things. My November through February was a little interesting, which to make a long story short, an old friend had come back into my life when her and boyfriend had split up, we hung out for a few weeks, she got back with him, we stopped hanging out, she missed the way things had been when we hung out, "separated" from him again, we hung out for a couple more weeks, get totally obliterated drunk one night, then she decided that wasn’t who she was and decided that she needed him in her life. I don’t hold grudges or anything like that, and I told her from the get go I had always just wanted her to be happy, and she knows what she wants to be happy, so kudos to her for that.

Now, of course I was going to mention the concerts I’ve been to since my last update as well, because after all, that’s what I do. The last concert I talked about was the Blink 182 show in Cincinnati I went to the day after my birthday last year; so as you can imagine, yes, I have been to quite a few shows since then. No, I won’t give the set lists for each and every concert I went to since then, I am just gonna post the date and who I saw that day.

September 3, 2009: Institution, Some Kind of Saint, The Killer and the Star, Taproot, Cold
September 30, 2009: The Faceless, 3 Inches of Blood, Between the Buried & Me, In Flames
February 1, 2010: Flyleaf, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace
February 25, 2010: Trust Divided, Edison, Day of Fire, Nonpoint, Cold
March 12, 2010: Scarlet Grey, The Loved Ones, AFI
March 15, 2010: Silversun Pickups, Muse
March 19, 2010: Thousand Foot Krutch, Red, Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin
March 31, 2010: Sore Eyes, Automatic Fire, Shinedown

So yeah, concerts I’ve attended the past few months. I’ve already got tickets for a few coming up as well, which include:

May 16, 2010: MC Chris
May 22 & 23, 2010: Rock on the Range 2010
June 11, 2010: Weezer
July 31, 2010: Rockstar Mayhem Tour 2010

I would have really liked to have gone to the Band of Horses and Pearl Jam show in Indy tomorrow night, but oh well; I only really wanted to go to see Band of Horses, and since they have a new album coming out next week, hopefully they’ll do their own tour. Seether is gonna be here on Sunday as well in Lexington, with Five Finger Death Punch, Hellyeah, Drowning Pool, and Lacuna Coil. Why is Lacuna Coil opening? That blows my mind. But I opted out of that one as well when I got tickets for Rock on the Range, Seether is third from the headliner on Sunday night, so I’m sure they’ll get at least 9 or 10 songs (and I sincerely hope they play “Careless Whisper”, which I’m willing to bet they will). I posted the other day on my Facebook the top 10 bands in order I was looking forward to seeing at RotR, and I’ll post them here too: Rise Against, Limp Bizkit, Coheed & Cambria, Seether, Godsmack, Deftones, Bullet For My Valentine, Killswitch Engage, Mastodon, and Skillet. The more I listen to Skillet, the more it makes me kinda sad they are only gonna get like 6 songs on the second stage. Oh well, what can ya do?

The entire two day line-up for Rock on the Range 2010 is as follows:

Saturdays Line-Up: Godsmack, Three Days Grace, Rise Against, Deftones, Papa Roach, Puddle Of Mudd, Drowning Pool, Sevendust, Killswitch Engage, Skillet, Halestorm, Adelitas Way, Violent Soho, Richy Nix, Helmet, Nonpoint, Janus, Taddy Porter, Like A Storm

Sundays Line-Up: Limp Bizkit, Rob Zombie, Seether, Slash, Theory Of A Deadman, Bullet For My Valentine, Five Finger Death Punch, Apocalyptica, Mastodon, Coheed & Cambria, Anberlin, Escape The Fate, Airbourne, Shaman's Harvest, Mushroomhead, Cold, Year Long Disaster, Noise Auction

I think they did a pretty good job on splitting the metal bands between the two days, though I think Sunday may be just a little more metal (Mastodon, FFDP, and BFMV should be pretty brutal). But yeah, I am anticipating seeing Rise Against the most. I’ve never seen them and seeing them with a crowd of 30,000+ is going to be awesome. A couple of the second stage bands were on last year’s Rock on the Range, though on the third stage if I remember correctly (Adelitas Way and Halestorm I know for sure).

But yeah, tomorrow night, Me, Lenny, Wayne, Tyler, and possibly Leisl are gonna go see Iron Man 2 up at the theater on Preston; I’ve been looking forward to IM2 for a while now, should be a good time. There’s a few other movies coming out this Summer that have my attention as well, though for some reason, it just doesn’t seem like there’s as many movies coming out this Summer compared to the past few Summers. Oh well, I know Summer of 2011 and 2012 already have big movies lined up for sure (the next Christopher Nolan "Batman" movie is scheduled for July 2012, fuck yes; but he’s already gone on to say that this one is definitely his last one, fuck no.)

Anyway, I know this isn’t much of an update especially after nearly 9 months of no updates…but like I said, being back in school, haven’t really done a whole lot (of course other than the occasional hanging out on weekends; like Kart Kountry or what have you from a few weeks ago). But yeah, hopefully I’ll keep this updated a little better here on out, especially since in the Fall, I only have classes on Tuesday and Thursday, from 2:00 – 4:00 and then 6:00 – 10:00, so yeah, pretty righteous right there.

But yeah, until next time.

Stay Classy, LiveJournal
