The Story of an Uncommonly Gentle Man

I feel a million miles away, I don’t feel any thing at all
So yeah, the last update was about a week ago right before going to the Nine Inch Nails concert. That Friday, the 29th, once I got off work, I chilled around the house until about 8:00 or so when Jason came and picked me up and we stopped on the way to Louisville and picked up Lenny as well. We got to the Preston theater and we saw Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. It was alright, it could have been a lot better. I thought there was going to be characters and stuff in it, but damn Amy Adams was hot in it, that’s for sure; overall, it felt a little too much like the first. Now, the second movie we saw was Up, and man, I thought it was fantastic. I am a firm believer that Pixar doesn’t know how to make a bad movie, their movies just keep getting better and better. After the flicks, we headed home and crashed out for the night.

Saturday was the big day. Jason picked me up right about 4:15 or so and then we headed out right at 4:30. We stopped once in Indiana to get something to drink/snack on since it would be a while before we ate again. So the ride was pretty smooth until we got about 3 miles from the exit we needed when traffic seemed to slow down/halt for no apparent reason. Seriously, by the time it was moving again, there was nothing around; no wreck, sign of wreck, bad drivers, nothing. So not only did that eat into our time, but when we got off the exit and towards the amphitheater, it took a good 15-20 minutes to get us into the parking lot as well. So turns out, we managed to park and be walking up to the amphitheater just in time to catch the end of Street Sweeper Social Club’s last song. It was bogus to cause I was really wanting to see them since Tom Morello is in that band. Anyway, we got in there shortly after 8:00 and hung around on the lawn. Now, the entire drive up there, it was as sunny as could be, hardly any clouds at all. By the time we get to Noblesville, there are dark clouds everywhere. About 8:30, Nine Inch Nails came on and took the stage. They opened up with “Home”, and I loved it cause that was the song I was hoping they would open with. But anyway, as the show went on, more and more dark clouds came into the area with lightning in the background. During their performance of “Metal”, apparently tornado sirens were going off yet very few people heard them because you would have had to have been standing in the very back against the fence to hear it. When they played “The Fragile”, at the mellow slow down part, rain started to come down pretty good. It seriously stopped once they were finished with the song. The dark clouds and lightning remained for the remainder of Nine Inch Nails set and didn’t really rain again either. Me and Jason discussed that with the way the weather acted, it was almost as if Trent truly was a god because you could not have coordinated the weather anymore perfectly with the way the show panned out. Trent said at one point “I don’t want to say this is going to be the last Nine Inch Nails tour because I know it’ll make you said, so I won’t.” He then went on to thank us and the support for the past 20 years of his life and all that. I truly love Nine Inch Nails, so I really hope I get the chance to see them again. I couldn’t have asked for a better show for them to go out on either. So once they were done, we stuck around and Jane’s Addiction came on at 10:25 p.m. They clouds had cleared by then and you could clearly see the night sky, so it was just something that all these stuff going on during NIN and calmed before Jane’s Addiction. Anyway, me and Jason stuck around for about an hour of their performance and decided to leave, mainly to get a head start on traffic and get something to eat. Jason had never eaten at an IHOP (International House Of Pancakes for those that don’t know), so we stopped there and got something to eat. There was a Wal-Mart right beside there, so we went in there so I could try and buy beer, but apparently, once it hits 12:00 midnight and becomes Sunday, they don’t sell beer. I was a little frustrated about that, so we just headed back home; had to stop for gas but that was it. We made it back about 3:30 a.m. and I just crashed out as soon as I get in the house.

Sunday through tonight, I haven’t really done too much other than getting on Xbox Live with Lenny. Sunday afternoon, I did go to GameStop and pick up Transformers: The Game, Bully, & Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 as part of GameStop’s buy 2, get 1 free Used games sale. Ghost Recon is pretty cool, though I think the single-player campaign is probably gonna be better than multi-player. And Transformers is a fun little game, glad I only payed $19.99 for it and not full price. Haven’t tried Bully out yet, but I’ve read it’s good. I am going to be reserving Prototype in the next day or two, and then next week when I get paid, I’ll be reserving Ghostbusters. I think I’m more excited about Ghostbusters than I am Prototype.

So yeah, No Doubt and Paramore tickets in Indianapolis are only $15 after service charges for Lawn tickets. I am so totally going to that. I really want to see Brad Paisley on the 19th in Cincinnati, OH, so I’ll have to see if Lenny or someone else wants to go.

But yeah, not really getting into anything as of right now this weekend, so I’m sure I’ll find something to do. I don’t wanna sit around doing nothing, so who knows.

But yeah, figured I’d do a quick update for after the NIN show. Sure I’ll have one soon after the next concert or something I go to.
